Creamy Baked Chicken

My mom made this dish last night. I still haven't pulled out my camera so unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. I really hope you guys try this one as it was FANTASTIC and EASY! Oh and I must give props to my dad for coming up with it!

1.5 pounds of chicken (bone in dark meat works well)
1 can cream of mushroom soup (98% fat free is okay)
1/2 a can (use the soup can) of water
7 garlic cloves chopped
1 large yellow onion sliced
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350. Place chicken in a 13x9 greased baking dish. In a small bowl mix together soup and water. Pour mixture over chicken. Sprinkle on garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Bake for about an hour.

*The gravy from this dish goes well over rice or mashed potatoes.
