Dinner Party Tonight

Tonight we are hosting my best friend, Kelly and her hubby, Jeff, for a holiday dinner. Afterwards we're going to play a few board games. We decided to split the menu so one person didn't have to do everything. I'm making stuffed shells and Caesar salad while they are bringing garlic bread and dessert. I thought I'd let you guys see the table that hubby and I put together for dinner. Surprisingly enough, we only had to purchase the red tapers because we own everything you see in the pictures!!! So the tablescape only costs us $1. My kind of party!!! ; ) All in all the party has only costs us $16 total. I'm still hobbling around and trying to pace myself. The knee immobilizer and crutches have helped. I couldn't get an appointment with an orthopedist until Dec. 22nd so I've got a little over a week until I go for the appointment.

Top Ramen Surprise

I LOVE this recipe. It's very inexpensive to make and tastes really good.

Top Ramen Surprise

1 lb. ground beef
1 large yellow onion, sliced
6 packages of your favorite type of Ramen noodles
3 cups of your choice of fresh or frozen vegetables (feel free to use more if you’d like)
1 tsp. Worcheshire sauce
1 tsp. hot sauce (I usually use a lot more than this since I like it hot)

Brown meat and sauté onion and allow mixture to drain while you prepare Ramen noodles. Once noodles are done, drain all but 1 tsp. of the liquid. Add all ingredients (including the 6 Ramen noodle seasoning packets) to the large pot with the Ramen noodles. Blend well. Enjoy!

*If you use fresh vegetables you may want to steam them with the noodles so they will be tender.

**My favorite vegetable in this is broccoli, but a vegetable medley and corn work really well too.
