DIY Dessert Pedestal

I just finished my first official craft project of 2010! I've seen these dessert/cake pedestals all over the internet lately, but finally felt inspired to create my own after seeing the collection that Ashley over at Little Moments made. Mine is actually made from a plate my mom has had for several years now. I believe it may have been my grandmother's. This dessert pedestal will be going on the bottom shelf of my mom's curio cabinet along with other items that were her mothers. You could easily create this by using plates you may already own or find ones really cheap at your local thrift store. I used a clear candle holder that I purchased at the Dollar Tree and bought Amazing E-6000 glue.

Very fun redo, and it's nice that the plate also has some meaning for you.

Great job Tara. I love the colors of that plate and how putting it on a pedestal makes it even more special

I love your blog (I'm obsessed with recipes right now!) and I'm becoming a follower. Thanks again!
